A secretive prophet whose private obsessions drove a dangerous cult.

David Berg, founder of the Children of God cult, was deeply introverted and reclusive, communicating with his followers almost entirely through written 'Mo Letters' rather than public appearances — a hallmark of the snake's obsessive, behind-the-scenes creative control. Like the snake, he was a misunderstood and sinister outsider who cultivated a carefully constructed mystique, keeping his true nature hidden while wielding enormous influence from the shadows. His meticulous, controlling nature and predatory manipulation of his followers, combined with his near-total avoidance of the public eye, make the snake the defining match.
