Duty-bound and dignified, loyalty and protocol above all else.
Queen Anne of Great Britain (1665–1714) was defined by an almost painful sense of duty, deep personal loyalty, and rigid adherence to the formal structures of monarchy and religion. She maintained close, intensely devoted bonds — most famously with Sarah Churchill — and was known for her warmth within her inner circle despite a stiff public exterior. Like the penguin, she endured enormous personal suffering (losing all 17 of her children) with stoic resilience, and found her identity in community, institution, and unwavering commitment to those she loved.
