Robert Englund is famously meticulous and deeply artistic about his craft, spending hours in the makeup chair perfecting Freddy Krueger's physicality and mannerisms with obsessive precision. Off-screen, he is strikingly introverted and soft-spoken, a far cry from his monstrous alter ego — genuinely surprised by the intense cult devotion he inspires and often uncomfortable with the spotlight.
