The Badger and Dog make surprisingly solid friends — the Dog's boundless loyalty gives the Badger someone worth tolerating, while the Badger's bluntness keeps the Dog's tail-wagging enthusiasm from getting completely out of hand. Romantically, though, the Badger's stubbornness and the Dog's desperate need for approval create a slow-motion collision of frustration and guilt trips. But strip away the emotional incompatibility and these two generate enough heat to set off smoke alarms — which is impressive, given that the Badger doesn't even particularly like people.
