The Blueprint Meets the Blue Sky

The beaver arrives with color-coded spreadsheets and a five-year plan; the eagle arrives with a thermals forecast and zero interest in spreadsheets. As friends, they can just about tolerate each other's company — the beaver admires the eagle's vision, the eagle occasionally appreciates having someone competent handle the details. Romantically, however, this is a slow-motion disaster: the beaver needs roots, routine, and a properly grouted bathroom, while the eagle needs open sky and the freedom to disappear for long weekends without filing a report. One builds dams; the other soars over them — and neither finds that particularly sexy.
