The crow talks; the bison endures — barely.

The crow's quick wit and opportunistic charm can open doors the bison never knew existed, but the bison's no-nonsense pragmatism has little patience for feathered cleverness that skirts the edges of trustworthy. There's a grudging mutual usefulness here — the crow needs the bison's steady ground, and the bison occasionally needs someone to spot the angles — but this pairing works better as an occasional alliance than a deep bond. Romance and friendship both require more patience from the bison and more sincerity from the crow than either naturally delivers.
