The gorilla wants quiet dominance and genuine connection; the peacock wants an audience and a mirror. These two can manage a decent friendship as long as the gorilla tolerates the peacock's theatrical entrance into every room — and the peacock tolerates being occasionally ignored. Romantically, however, this is a slow-motion trainwreck: the gorilla finds the peacock exhausting and shallow, while the peacock finds the gorilla hopelessly under-dressed. Between the sheets there's a fleeting spark, but the peacock will spend more time on the hair than the afterglow.
