The Mole is a creature of quiet intensity, burrowing through life with methodical purpose, while the Otter is basically a golden retriever who learned to swim and never shut up about it. As friends, there's genuine charm here — the Otter drags the Mole into the sunlight, and the Mole occasionally reminds the Otter that depth exists. Romantically, however, the Mole's need for solitude and the Otter's desperate hunger for social stimulation will eventually create a fault line.
