The porcupine's idea of a good time is solitary, defensive, and definitely not involving a crowd of admirers — which is basically the sea lion's entire personality. The sea lion craves applause, affection, and an audience, while the porcupine is busy building an emotional moat around a very small, very private castle. Romantically, this pairing has all the warmth of a sea lion trying to hug a cactus — enthusiastic on one side, deeply unwelcome on the other. These two can coexist on the same planet, but probably shouldn't share a zip code.
