The Rooster crows at dawn, polishes their feathers, and demands a standing ovation for simply existing — none of which particularly impresses the laid-back Walrus, who was perfectly happy napping on a rock. As friends, they can occasionally find common ground, usually when the Walrus tunes out the Rooster's monologues and the Rooster mistakes silence for admiration. Romantically, though, this is a slow-motion collision between ego and indifference — the Rooster wants a spotlight partner, and the Walrus wants a nap. Between the sheets, there's a flicker of something, but not enough to keep the Rooster from eventually crowing about it to someone more interested.
