The wolf shows up with grand ambitions and a magnetic swagger; the shrew shows up with a detailed list of complaints about the wolf's grand ambitions and magnetic swagger. As friends, they can just about tolerate each other over coffee — the wolf finds the shrew's intensity mildly amusing, and the shrew finds the wolf occasionally useful. Romantically, however, this is less a love story and more a nature documentary where everyone knows how it ends. Keep it casual, keep it distant, and for the love of all things holy, keep it out of the bedroom.
