Fanny Kaplan was a Russian Socialist Revolutionary who, despite being nearly blind and having endured years of brutal imprisonment in Siberian labor camps, remained utterly unbroken in her political convictions. She is best known for her 1918 assassination attempt on Vladimir Lenin, an act she carried out with total ideological commitment even knowing it would almost certainly cost her her life — and it did, as she was executed days later. Her defining trait was that stubborn, tenacious, cause-driven refusal to yield that is the hallmark of the badger personality.
