Howard Zinn embodied the badger's relentless, stubborn dedication to a cause — spending decades challenging official historical narratives with 'A People's History of the United States' and refusing to be silenced despite academic criticism. He was arrested during civil rights protests, fired from Spelman College for his activism, and continued speaking out against war and injustice well into old age. Like the badger, he dug deep, held his ground, and never backed down from a fight he believed in.
